DAY 01: ARRIVE – AT LEH: Upon arrival meet and greet then transfer you to a hotel/guesthouse and spend the afternoon at rest at the hotel to acclimatize to the high altitude. Early evening, we want to visit the local markets in Leh and end the day with a spectacular sunset from the Shanti Stupa. Stay overnight in Leh.
DAY 02: LEH – SIGHTSEEING TOUR: After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a full-day tour of Leh. we will visit Likir Gompa, one of Ladakh’s oldest and best-preserved monasteries, dating back to the 11th century. Likir claims that it houses a 75ft statue of Buddha and is guarded by two serpent spirits, Nanda and Taksako. Alchi Monastery – a complex of four simple temples, built between 958 and 1055 in the local style of the region. Sangam Valley – the picturesque confluence of the rivers Indus and Zanskar Magnetic Hill – is a tiny hillock that is one of the most intriguing spots in the country. This hill is said to defy gravity as it tends to pull vehicles upwards. Hall of Fame – a museum/war memorial built by the Indian army to commemorate the bravery and valor of the Indian soldiers. Stay overnight in Leh.
DAY 03: LEH – PANGONG LAKE / Pangong (220 km, 5.5 – 6 hours): After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Pangong. En route, we will visit the Hemis Monastery and Thiksey Monastery. Hemis is the largest and richest of the central Ladakh monasteries. It has several temples, including the amazing Tshog-Khang. The monastery is renowned for its spectacular Hemis Setchu annual summer festival. Thiksey Monastery – this beautiful monastery houses a two-story statue of the Maitreya Buddha seated on a lotus and boasts a spectacular view of the Leh Valley. Arrive at Pangong Lake and check into our hotel. Stay overnight in Pangong Lake (Tent/Homestay).
DAY 04: PANGONG LAKE – NUBRA VALLEY (220 km, 5.5 – 6 hours): The morning after breakfast, drive to Nubra via Agam and Shyok Valley. The deep-cut River Valleys offer tremendous scenery on a grand scale, with green oasis villages surrounded by thrillingly stark scree slopes, boulder fields, and harsh arid mountains. There are dunes, monasteries, a ruined palace, and – at Turtuk and Bogdang – a whole different culture (Balti) to discover. Arrive at Nubra Hotel and check in. Later we want to do an adventurous ride on the double hump Bactrian camel on the dunes of the Hunder cold desert. Stay overnight in Nubra Valley (Tent/Homestay).
DAY 05: NUBRA VALLEY – SIGHTSEEING OF VALLEY: Nubra Spend the day at leisure exploring the surroundings of our hotel We may visit the Turtuk Village. Located on the banks of Shyok River at the Indo-Pak border and surrounded by the high peaks of the Karakoram Range, it is a secluded village at the far end of the Nubra Valley and worth a visit it seems. Stay overnight in Nubra Valley (Tent/Homestay).
DAY 06: NUBRA VALLEY – LEH VIA KHARDONGLA PASS (160 km, 4.5 – 5 hours): Today morning after breakfast proceed back to Leh, also visit the Diskit Gompa – perched on a hill in the village of Diskit and considered to be the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra Valley, it belongs to the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism. En route, spend some time at Khardung La Pass (35 Km), the second highest Motorable Pass in the world at 5600 meters. One can witness the beauty of snow-capped mountains from the top. Stay overnight in Leh.
DAY 07: LEH – DEPARTURE: After breakfast, you will have a departure transfer to the airport for a flight to your onward destinations.
