Discover the remarkable landscapes and cultural diversity of northern Ladakh on this private 7-day journey through Leh and Nubra Valley, extending to the fascinating village of Turtuk near the India–Pakistan border. Travel through dramatic Himalayan mountain passes, explore the monasteries and villages of Nubra, experience the unique Balti culture of Turtuk and enjoy the spectacular scenery of this remote Himalayan region.

This carefully designed journey combines high-altitude mountain landscapes, Buddhist heritage, traditional villages and the distinctive cultural character of Turtuk, while allowing sufficient time for acclimatization and a comfortable pace of travel.

Day 01: Arrive in Leh – Acclimatization

Arrive at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh, where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

Leh is situated at a high altitude, so the day is reserved for rest and acclimatization. Take time to relax and allow your body to adjust to the altitude.

If you feel comfortable in the evening, you may take a gentle walk around the local market and explore the traditional streets of Leh.

Day 02: Leh – Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, begin your introduction to Leh and its cultural heritage.

Visit Thiksey Monastery, one of the most impressive Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh, beautifully situated on a hill overlooking the Indus Valley.

Continue to Shey Palace, the former royal residence of Ladakh, known for its large Buddha statue and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Later, visit Hemis Monastery, one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh and a significant centre of Tibetan Buddhist culture.

Return to Leh and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 03: Leh – Nubra Valley via Khardung La

After breakfast, drive towards Nubra Valley, travelling through the spectacular mountain landscapes of Ladakh.

The journey takes you towards Khardung La, one of the famous high mountain passes of the region, subject to road and weather conditions.

Continue into Nubra Valley, a beautiful high-altitude region characterized by dramatic mountains, green villages, river valleys and desert-like landscapes.

On arrival, check in to your accommodation.

Later, enjoy some time at leisure to explore the surroundings and experience the peaceful atmosphere of Nubra Valley.

Day 04: Nubra Valley – Turtuk

After breakfast, drive towards Turtuk, one of the most fascinating villages in the Nubra region.

Turtuk is known for its distinctive Balti culture, traditional stone houses, narrow village lanes, apricot orchards and mountain scenery. The village offers a different cultural experience from the predominantly Buddhist areas of central Ladakh.

Spend time walking through the village and exploring its traditional architecture and surroundings.

Visit the local village areas and interact respectfully with the local community while experiencing the unique atmosphere of this remote Himalayan settlement.

Later, return to your accommodation.

Day 05: Turtuk – Hunder – Diskit

After breakfast, continue exploring the remarkable landscapes of Nubra Valley.

Travel towards Hunder, famous for its spectacular sand dunes, dramatic mountain scenery and traditional Bactrian double-humped camels.

You may enjoy an optional camel ride at Hunder, subject to local availability and operating conditions.

Continue to Diskit Monastery, the oldest and largest monastery in Nubra Valley. The monastery is dramatically positioned above the valley and offers impressive views of the surrounding mountains.

Later, return to your accommodation and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 06: Nubra Valley – Leh

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Leh.

Travel through the spectacular mountain landscapes of Nubra and cross the high-altitude terrain towards Leh, subject to road and weather conditions.

On arrival in Leh, check in to your hotel.

The remainder of the evening is free for leisure, shopping or relaxing after your journey through Nubra Valley.

Day 07: Leh – Departure

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport for your onward flight.
