Rajasthan Desert Circuit – 07 Nights / 08 Days

Discover the colours, royal heritage and desert landscapes of Rajasthan on this private 8-day journey through Jaipur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Ajmer and Pushkar. Experience magnificent forts and palaces, historic havelis, vibrant local markets and the spectacular landscapes of the Thar Desert.

This carefully designed Rajasthan Desert Circuit combines the architectural heritage of Rajasthan with authentic desert experiences, including a visit to the famous sand dunes of Jaisalmer. The journey also includes the spiritual towns of Ajmer and Pushkar, creating a wonderful balance of culture, history, desert scenery and traditional Rajasthan.

Day 01: Arrive – Jaipur

Arrive in Jaipur, the famous Pink City of Rajasthan. You will be met at the airport or railway station and transferred to your hotel.

The remainder of the day is free to relax after your journey or explore the local surroundings at leisure.

Overnight: Jaipur

Day 02: Jaipur – Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Jaipur.

Visit Amber Fort, located on the hills overlooking the historic city, followed by the City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar. You may also have time to explore the colourful markets of Jaipur, known for traditional handicrafts, textiles and jewellery.

Day 03: Jaipur – Bikaner

After breakfast, drive to Bikaner, an important historic city of the former princely state of Rajasthan.

On arrival, check in to your hotel and later visit Junagarh Fort, one of Bikaner’s principal heritage attractions. Explore the fort’s courtyards, palaces and historic architecture before continuing to explore the traditional character of the city.

Overnight: Bikaner

Day 04: Bikaner – Jaisalmer

After breakfast, continue your journey towards Jaisalmer, the famous Golden City of Rajasthan.

The journey takes you deeper into the landscapes of the Thar Desert. On arrival in Jaisalmer, check in to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 05: Jaisalmer Sightseeing & Sam Sand Dunes

After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer.

Visit the magnificent Jaisalmer Fort, one of India’s famous living forts, followed by Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Singh Ki Haveli and Gadisar Lake.

In the afternoon, drive towards Sam Sand Dunes in the Thar Desert. Enjoy the spectacular desert landscape and sunset. Camel safari and traditional cultural performances can be arranged as optional experiences.

Overnight: Jaisalmer / Desert Camp

Day 06: Jaisalmer – Jodhpur

After breakfast, drive to Jodhpur, the famous Blue City of Rajasthan.

On arrival, check in to your hotel and later visit the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, one of Rajasthan’s most impressive hill forts. Continue to Jaswant Thada, a beautiful marble memorial, and explore the historic areas of Jodhpur.

Overnight: Jodhpur

Day 07: Jodhpur – Pushkar via Ajmer

After breakfast, drive towards Pushkar, travelling via Ajmer.

In Ajmer, visit the famous Ajmer Sharif Dargah and explore the historic surroundings of the city.

Continue to Pushkar, one of Rajasthan’s important pilgrimage towns, situated around the sacred Pushkar Lake. Visit the Brahma Temple and enjoy an evening walk around the lake and colourful local markets.

Overnight: Pushkar

Day 08: Pushkar – Jaipur / Departure

After breakfast, drive back to Jaipur.

Depending on your onward travel arrangements, you will be transferred to Jaipur Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.

Your Rajasthan Desert Circuit ends with wonderful memories of Rajasthan’s royal heritage, desert landscapes and colourful culture.
