Route: Varanasi – Sarnath – Varanasi

Day 01: Arrive Varanasi – Ganga Aarti

Arrive in Varanasi and meet your private driver at the airport or railway station. Transfer to your hotel and check in.

Later, begin your introduction to the historic city of Varanasi.

In the late afternoon, visit Dashashwamedh Ghat, one of the most prominent ghats on the River Ganges. In the evening, witness the spectacular Ganga Aarti, with devotional chanting, bells and illuminated lamps offered beside the sacred river.

Return to the hotel.

Overnight: Varanasi

Day 02: Sunrise Boat Ride – Varanasi Old City & Temples

Early morning, enjoy a private sunrise boat ride on the River Ganges.

As the city awakens, see the historic ghats, pilgrims performing traditional rituals, and local life unfolding along the riverfront.

Return to the hotel for breakfast.

Later, explore the historic lanes of Varanasi with your local guide.

Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the most revered Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, subject to current security and entry regulations.

Continue through the old city and visit some of Varanasi’s important temples and cultural sites.

Later, visit Assi Ghat and enjoy time beside the Ganges.

Day 03: Sarnath – Buddhist Heritage & Varanasi

After breakfast, drive to Sarnath, one of India’s most important Buddhist heritage sites.

Sarnath is traditionally regarded as the place where Gautama Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment.

Visit the principal sites, including:

• Dhamek Stupa
• Chaukhandi Stupa
• Sarnath Archaeological Museum, subject to opening
• Mulagandha Kuti Vihara
• Buddhist temples and monasteries

Spend time exploring the peaceful surroundings and learning about the development of Buddhism and Sarnath’s importance as a pilgrimage destination.

Return to Varanasi in the afternoon.

The remainder of the day is free for shopping, relaxation or exploring the local markets.

Day 04: Varanasi – Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel.

Depending on your departure time, enjoy some free time for shopping or a final walk along the Ganges.

Later, transfer by private vehicle to Varanasi Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.

The tour ends with memorable experiences of Varanasi and the Buddhist heritage of Sarnath.
